International Hotels Management

International Hotels:Development and Management is the Product and culmination of considerable research and many years of observing, talking with international hotel CEOs and general managers, and working with hotels in international settings. While there are numerous publications available on hotel management or specific subjects within the broader subject of hospitality management, relatively little comprehensive writing exists on the international or cross-cultural aspects of the lodging industry. Indeed, only recently have the general business disciplines recognized the importance of international perspectives. Foreign languages, once elective subjects in the business curricula, are quickly becoming basic requirements to enhance cultural understanding in mamagement. A growing number of business schools throughout the United States and elsewhere are adding internationally focused courses to the curricula and adopting a more global approach toward such traditional subjects as management, marketing, and finance. Likewise, business-related research and publications are increasingly slanted toward international concerns.
